So, yesterday, I did something I NEVER do. I went for a movie- alone. Well, my hubby graciously told me that he’ll be home with my son, Rohan while I can get some “me time” and get things that I need— Trust me, I was more than thrilled at the prospect of being able to buy groceries without a screaming toddler.
I’m parked outside the grocery store, just looking at my phone… and I see a post from one of my friends about Bad Moms. I wonder… what if I went for a movie. Just the idea of ditching grocery shopping and going for a movie makes me feel excited. So I start checking movie times and BAD MOMS was playing in an hour… Perfect. I really want to see this movie. I wasn’t even dressed. But I decided to just go for it.
Entering that movie theater all by myself — while I was actually supposed to get milk and bread… I felt like such a bad-ass. I felt like a student who was bunking class ha ha…
Let me tell you- the movie was totally worth it.
“Bad Moms” starring Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Christina Applegate, Kathryn Hahn and Jada Pinkett Smith is a movie about… yup- you guessed it- It’s about a few good moms- who feel like bad moms. Wait. Isn’t that like all of us.
If you’re a mom on any kind of social media, I’m sure you’re familiar with this film. You’ve probably seen a trailer and a few memes floating around.
There are so many small things about this movie that we as moms instantly relate with. Things like- Always being late! And in particular, there’s this one scene where they’re talking about all the shortcomings in their kids and the next second they get teary eyed thinking about how much they love them.
And they do a really sweet thing for the end credits. They bring in moms of these amazing actresses and each one shares a few anecdotes… it’s really powerful. I cried again during the credits you guys!
If you’re looking for a movie that’ll make you laugh and cry- this is it. Watch my review and let me know what you think about the movie too!
